The brothers sat nervously in the dingy waiting room of the Maui County jail. The older brother, John (names changed for privacy), paced back and forth while the younger brother, Mark, sat with his head in his hands.
“This is all my fault,” Mark muttered. “I can’t believe I was so stupid.”
“It’s okay, Mark,” John said, trying to sound reassuring. “We’ll get you out of here. I already called a bail bondsman and he’s on his way.”
A few minutes later, a cheerful man entered the room. He introduced himself as the bail bondsman.

“No problem,” the bondsman said with a wink. “Just make sure you show up for your court date, and stay out of trouble!”
The brothers left the jail, grateful to be reunited and determined to put the ordeal behind them. From now on, they promised each other, they would be more careful and avoid any situations that could land them in jail again.
