A man was pulled over for speeding through a construction zone in Illinois on April 17th, 2023, and police found over 80 lbs of marijuana, 30 bottles of THC syrup, and 40 vape pens in his vehicle.
The man was taken to jail, and is facing several charges including drug trafficking. While Illinois residents are permitted to carry 30 lbs of marijuana, non-residents are only permitted to possess 15 lbs. Legally, it must also be sealed in a specified container provided by a dispensary.
The driver is from Mississippi, so he was transporting more than 65 lbs of the legal amount given his non-resident status.
